Hosts GSB Recommends
Thank you for visiting Getting Sites Built; a web/flash/engineering agency. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Getting Sites Built recommends the following web hosts, in no particular order:
A2 Web Hosting
Bluehost
HostNine
Our recommendations are based on the following points:
* VPS (Virtual Private Server)
* CPanel control panel
* Linux (not windows)
VPS
We recommend VPS accounts because they offer security and expandability. Your site is generally more secure from prying eyes when it is hosted on a VPS account. As well, your options for expanding your online presence are accounted for since you’ll be able to easily add domains and sites without going through yet another setup configuration.
CPanel
Behind the curtain of every site lurks an Administrator. As your site administrator, we prefer to work with what is known as a Cpanel control panel. This is where we configure your domain, email, ftp, etc.
Our experience with CPanel means you save money because we are familiar with the interface. You can also easily manage your hosting account using CPanel if you’d rather do it yourself.
Linux
Linux is our preferred hosting environment, not Windows. When you sign up for a plan, be sure to select Linux.
Summary
We recommend these hosts as they offer the services we prefer to work with and they represent varied pricing structures. Our preference for a host isn’t based on price and it’s important to realize that price is only one part of the equation when deciding where to host your site. Our preference is based on a mixture of things such as responsiveness of tech support, money back guarantee, our experience working with the host, etc.
We hope this document helps you decide which host to select. If you have any questions, please contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss your options with you.
