National Radio Project produces award-winning public radio shows, including Making Contact. Getting Sites Built founder Donovan Watts worked as their dependable webmaster for years, posting their weekly radio show to the web. When National Radio Project was ready for a site redesign, they turned to Donovan’s company, Getting Sites Built.
Donovan did the wonderful design and navigational system of our website and it has provided a robust platform to build upon for years since. He led us into the early days of podcasting and helped us establish thousands of listeners who might not otherwise hear us on one of the 200 radio stations that air our Making Contact peace and justice radio series.” - Lisa Rudman, Director National Radio Project /producers of Making Contact www.radioproject.org
Completing A Redesign
Getting Sites Built completely redesigned the National Radio Project website from the ground up. From the larger issue of overall information architecture, to the detail-oriented task of adding ID3 tags to the MP3’s, we built a modern, consistent, and powerful website. We established a show template, set up an email newsletter, and integrated a search engine. We also addressed the problem they were having with storing the massive show archive that had already exceeded the maximum storage capacity by moving the archive to a website that holds copyright-free material for the general public.
Podcasting Innovation
At a time when a google search on the term “podcasting” would result in only a handful of hits, Getting Sites Built not only added both podcasting and RSS feed functionality, but we led the way by bundling the weekly podcast with the RSS feed. We were one of the first companies to do this. Before the website redesign, National Radio Project did not know how many people were listening to their weekly show. Now, National Radio Project boasts over 14,700 subscribers to their RSS feed.
We build the website you’ve always wanted.
